Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A resurgent the Russian player won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

His defensive play style and recurring outbursts on court had led observers to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was over.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an improved service.

He came back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.

He defended 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
